This year, Huntington completed a whole-home remodel in Starwood for the Magill family, who purchased their Tuscan-style home back in 2016. “Our house was so outdated with a lot of wood accents and a yellowish paint color throughout the home,” Lisa Magill said. “We knew we wanted to make some changes but didn’t know where to start.”

The Magills loved their house and its location but wanted some fresh updates for the home originally built in 2007. They attempted a renovation a few years back that turned out to be unsuccessful and felt like a waste of money. “Most renovation companies expect the customers to know what they want and do what they instruct, but we were looking for a company that could guide us through the latest design trends and the possibilities for our home.”
Lisa received one of Huntington’s postcards in the mail back in 2020 and immediately contacted our team about a potential complete home transformation. “One of the most important things I was looking for was a company that was professional with a long history AND that could back up their work with quality materials and warranty. There are plenty of home renovation companies out there, but not enough to trust that they would come back to fix anything that didn’t go right or ended up breaking after they left.”
With some big-picture ideas regarding the overall vision for the remodel, Lisa found it helpful to work one-on-one with her designer to walk through the design details for the various rooms in the home.
“Having a designer was an amazing experience because I needed someone to walk me through the designs I had in mind and then be able to bring them to life. There were colors and designs I would have never thought of without the assistance from my project team,” Lisa said.
In addition to her pleasant experience working directly with her designer, Lisa felt comfortable knowing that her house was in good hands while she was away from the home while it was under construction.
“I was very impressed with the fact that a project manager was at our house every day that we had a vendor in our house, and we would have days that there was a houseful. Gave us peace of mind knowing someone was there at all times to supervise the work being done.”
The Magills moved back into their home in March 2021 and have enjoyed spending time in what feels like a completely new home.
“People will ask us why in the world did we do so much or why not just buy a new house… but our house feels like a new home! I once called our home ‘the cave’ because it didn’t have enough light, but now our house has so much natural light with a bright, contemporary feel throughout,” Lisa said. “We love everything in our remodel… it was more than I expected. Huntington gave us the full service we were looking for while still providing that custom touch. Money well-spent.”
From the updated entryway with new front doors and updated staircase, to the completely transformed kitchen and custom whiskey bar, to the fresh stain for the hardwood floors and new colors throughout the home, to the spa-like master bathroom and custom closet, The Magill family has loved spending time in their updated home and looks forward to showing it off to others.
